ONLYTHEBADSTUDIOS was created by me, 'Saul Vidal.' My early childhood was spent in Cuidad Juarez, Mexico. Growing up my parents always assured that I learn my mexican culture, they would tell me to always be proud of where I came from(we). This meant being exposed to amazing history, art, and food. Being in a humble household meant having to innovate and create new toys out of the things I already had. My parents being Sci-Fi and cinema lovers would often rent movies such as Aliens and Star Wars. Just being a kid I learned about 'Pepakura' and would build my own Master Chief and Clone trooper helmets, more examples of how if I couldn't attain it one way i would find alternate ways until i could do it. Cardboard and hot glue were my go-to's for building my action figures forts and spaceship vehicles. As time went on i eventually moved to the 'States' where i learned English. From then on that's when i was introduced to the hyper consumerism and pop culture of the 2010's . Tumblr and fashion blogs like Highsnobiety and Complex were at its peak days (although we didn't know it at the time). Suddenly i was learning about and wanting a pair of Nike SB Dunks x Nicky Diamond collab or graphic tees from Karmaloop. Reading blog articles on who this mysterious Rick Owens figure was or reading how this new Virgil character was making waves with his creative work and brand-Pyrex Vision. Although my parents had moved us to the States for better safety and in search of better opportunities many of the struggles still remained, which meant so did my innovative brain. What i couldn't attain I tried to create, through this mentality is how began tackle my itch for making new-cool things. It is by finding alternate ways of producing something that you are left with a concept that can be very refreshing and new. With my love for sci-fi, streetwear, and fashion and my innovative brain I try to put things out into the world and hopefully inspire others, i wish to one day hopefully open doors for others like me.
